We’re known in Oregon and the Willamette Valley for Pinot Noir, but Chardonnay could be the future my friends. In the beginning stages of wine growing in this AVA, Chardonnay never seemed the right grape for this climate and terroir. But flash forward to now, 2021 and you’ll see that the Willamette Valley is indeed the one of, if not the, most exciting Chardonnay growing region in the world. Of course Burgundy inspired Chardonnay production and has mastered the craft, but the Willamette Valley region is steadily making Chardonnay moves. The Willamette Valley Chardonnays are interesting, filled with character and most delicious! Keep watching as this region explodes with world class Chardonnays.
